Often occurring due to patella mal-tracking or dislocations, a replacement of the patellofemoral joint offers the younger/middle aged patient with isolated arthritis ofthe knee cap an option to improve their quality of life.

Knee replacements can fail for a number of reasons.

Eventually, due to the reaction of the bone to the wear particles, a knee replacement may become loose, this requires conversion to a more stable implant with a new bearing surface.
